Next week is the week we have been waiting for. The Big Move. It is coming together really well. I wanted to make you aware of a few things in this post.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Monday, August 20, at 8:00 am. (We apologize for the incorrect date listed in the Spectator.) We expect the ceremony to be about 30 minutes long and then everyone is invited to the Common Grounds coffee shop for free coffee and donuts. You will also be able to walk around the new building.
Speaking of walking around the facility, we are adding another tour date. On Saturday, August 4, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, we will hold an open house for visitors. As it will no longer be a construction site, children are welcome to come as well. You will be free to wander the whole building. We will have some staff here to assist and answer questions, but feel free to come and look around and check out the new and exciting space.
Next week is moving week. Yes, we are extremely excited! Today, after 3:00 pm, the office will be unplugged and packed up. It will take a few days to get everything plugged in and working at the new office in Dyer. We expect the phones to be operating by mid-week if all goes well. Our new number will be (219) 558-7066. Our new address will be 10920 Calumet Ave., Dyer, IN 46311. It will also take some time for email to be working again as our servers are relocated. All of the office staff will be off all of next week. We hope to be up and running at the new campus on Monday, July 23.
Finally, as I was visiting the new campus this morning, I was reminded of the days we gathered in the bean field to pray over this project. I would like to gather again and continue to make this building a house of prayer. There is so much to be thankful for as we are so blessed. We also need to continue to pray for the hearts and minds of our students. Please join me at 8:00 am on Monday, July 23, at the flag pole in front of the building. This will not be a time for tours as work is continuing in some parts of the building, but this will be a time of prayer for the campus, the staff and the students. I hope to see you there!
