Challenged to Ride

Happy Friday,

Today we are focusing on the “Challenged to Ride” dune bike ride and BBQ on August 26.

-If you sign up by Saturday night, your name will get thrown in a drawing to win one of our brand new racing jerseys. You can see a picture of it at the bottom. We will draw an adult name and a under 18 name. If the under 18 winner wants a jersey, we will give them one too. If not, we will give them their choice of other Illiana gear. Winners will be chosen next Wednesday and announced on our blog and social media pages. The last day to sign up for the race and still get a performance t-shirt is August 13. However, you can still sign up after that date, we just can’t guarantee a shirt.

-It should be a fun community event where you get to ride on some great trails and then have a good lunch on the beach. As I have mentioned before, everyone can ride in the event. There is a mile length that works for everyone. You can ride 10, 22, 33, and 66 miles and there are plenty of places to stop on the way. If you want your kid to ride, the 10 mile is perfect. The 10 mile ride is completely on bike trails and we will have adults at the stops where the bike trail crosses the road. More info and sign up at

-A reminder that we are still in need of volunteers to help with the ride.  IF you would like to volunteer for the morning, please let Colin Lautenbach know at

-Finally, if you are business sponsor and would still like to be a part of the race, please let me know by August 10. We need to prepare shirts and signs.

Thanks again for everything and for your support of Illiana and the building of the hearts and minds of our students
