One week away

Happy Thursday,

It has been a little crazy around here. Everyone is learning new systems, new rooms, and waiting on a few things in and outside the building to be finished. While it may be a little stressful, it is a blessing to be in this new building and move into a new chapter for Illiana Christian High School. In less than a week, 470 students will be walking through these halls for the first time and we are excited to use this building to teach these kids. We have been waiting and praying for this for so long and it is finally here! Thank you to every one of you who have made this happen in one way or another. It is an exciting time for Illiana.

A few reminders:

1.  The Ribbon Cutting ceremony is Monday morning, August 20, at 8:00 am. We will meet in the front of school by the flag pole. You can enter through the 109th St entrance and park in the visitor lot on your right side. (Please note: there is currently construction on Calumet Ave. south of 109th St, so you will be unable to enter through that entrance. You may want to allow for a few extra minutes due to traffic.) If the from parking lot fills up, you can also park in the event parking lot behind school. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will move the ceremony into the main Commons. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, you are invited to our coffee shop, Common Grounds, for free coffee and donuts and feel free to tour the building. A big thanks to the Common Grounds staff and committee for making this possible. The morning will wrap-up by 9:00 am as we are hosting the teacher in-service for the area feeder schools. We would love to see you Monday morning.

2.  The first day of school is Wednesday, August 22. Please pray for these students and staff as we enter this new year. One of my dreams is to make this building a house of prayer. I encourage all of you to pray for this school year and the teachers, staff, students, parents, and community.

3.  Our Dedication Ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 15. We will communicate more information soon.

For now, let’s praise God for his faithfulness to Illiana Christian High School as we get ready to do what we do….build the hearts and minds of these students for Jesus Christ.
