One More Match

For almost three years now we have been actively fundraising for the new campus project. You have responded generously time and time again. Many of you have pledged, given, re-pledged and have gone above and beyond. We are all looking forward to taking a break and enjoying the exciting changes of the new campus.

We have been saying for a while now if we raise the money for the ARC, we will take a break from the capital campaign. Last January realizing the necessity of the ARC being completed along with Phase One, we launched the Build the ARC campaign with the goal of $2.5 million. The community has responded amazingly and we raised about $1 million in nine months. That allowed us to build the shell of the ARC along with the primary gym (and in the process save a lot of money on the overall building cost). However, we still needed to raise the remaining $1.5 million by December 31 to complete the interior of the ARC for the start of school in the fall of 2018.

Since September we have challenged our community to extend their pledges and do what they can to help us finish this. By November 9, we had raised $444,710 toward the $1.5 million goal. As we strategized how to raise the last million dollars, we recognized that many of us respond generously to a match challenge. We have been blessed with matches three times during this campaign and they have been successful each time. So we have gone to a few donors to help put one final match together, but this will be a “reverse match”. Our matching donors do not want to hold back and give only if others do; they want to make their commitments up front and challenge YOU to match THEIR gift!

So the good news: we have received $540,000 as a reverse match! That means we are less than $500,000 away from making the completed ARC a reality and we have exactly 31 days to raise it. We are asking you, the community, to match what this group of donors has given. If the community matches the full $540,000, we would exceed our goal and maybe allow us to add additional things to Phase One like baseball and softball fields or additional bleachers.

I know this is a lot. I know we continue asking and you continue to be faithful in responding. If we can make this match, we finish the ARC, we finish Phase One of the project, and we finish an incredible season of God’s blessings on Illiana. Thank you so much for your incredible faithfulness to Illiana and to the building of the hearts and minds of our students for Jesus Christ.

Gifts and pledges can be made online or by mailing them to the school office. To print a pledge card, click here.
