It was good to see so many of you at the open house on Saturday. We estimate about 300 people visited the new campus during those two hours. The phrase I heard over and over again was, “We are so blessed.” Yes, we are. We have so much to be thankful for and sometimes we get distracted by small things and it is good to be reminded of the big picture of God’s faithfulness.
I do have some really good news. We are excited to welcome Cassie (DeVries) Siersema as our new Director of Development. After graduating from Illiana in 2008, Cassie attended and graduated from Dordt College (‘12) with a Bachelor’s in Communication and Public Relations. She comes to us with over five years of experience in development and public relations. She and her husband, Andy, live in Dyer with their son Jack and attend Pathway CRC. Cassie and I will be working together to raise money for the programs of the school. Cassie will be focusing on the Illiana Annual Fund Drive, the Illiana Foundation, grant writing, and building stronger relationships with our alumni and community. Please join me in welcoming her to the Illiana team.
A quick reminder: The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is on Monday, August 20, at 8:00 am. Registration is also still open for the Challenged to Ride bike ride on Saturday, August 25.
