As of December 20, we are about $158,000 away from our goal to raise the funds necessary to finish the ARC. It has been inspiring to see the community rally together to make this happen! I am confident we can reach our goal by December 31. If you are still able to contribute we would really appreciate it. Every gift counts. We want the ARC to be ready along with Phase One when we start school next fall. Due to the holidays, we will not be posting our final number until January 8.

As we get ready to break for Christmas at Illiana, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I pray you find time to focus on Jesus and the truth of Christmas. Jesus is the reason for all we do at Illiana. We often put our focus other places at school like grades, sports, the arts, and buildings. However these have one thing in common: we do all of it for Jesus. He is the point. We study academics in order to grow our minds to be difference makers in the kingdom. We throw, jump, and run in order to learn about hard work, team work and how to glorify God instead of ourselves. We sing, play and act in order to worship our God and give glory to His great name. We are constructing this building as a place that for years to come, we will have the opportunity to instill Jesus in the hearts and minds of our students. This is so important in our world today.

I often hear the question, “What makes Illiana special?” I believe what makes us special is that we daily try to point our students to Jesus. Some days we may fail, but many days this is the place where Jesus becomes real to them. My prayer for all of you this Christmas is that Jesus may become even more real to you. May you have a renewed sense of joy and wonder just like the shepherds. We are very thankful for each of you and how you have partnered with us to share the good news of Jesus with these kids. It makes a difference. Stay tuned in January for news on our goal. Blessings.
